After taking an inhalant and an anxiety medicine, the singer and actor drowned in his bathtub and passed away in November at the age of 34.

He was last seen alive by Sheriff’s deputies, who visited his home at about 2 a.m. on Nov. 4 to conduct a welfare check, after Mr. Carter was seen “huffing” an inhalant on an Instagram live video.

According to the police report that the A.P. was able to get, Mr. Carter had requested that the authorities depart, and they did.

The next day, after hearing Mr. Carter's dogs barking but not hearing back from him, a housekeeper entered his house.

She discovered Mr. Carter submerged in the jet-operated Jacuzzi bathtub while wearing only a T-shirt and a necklace and dialled 911.

The operator instructed the housekeeper to rescue Mr. Carter from the tub and start CPR. When paramedics came, they quickly pronounced him dead.

At the beginning of his career, Carter served as Backstreet Boys' opening act on a number of tours and performances.

His four albums, the first of which was released when he was just nine years old, sold millions of copies during the late 1990s and the early 2000s.

Carter began rapping when he got older and has made appearances in Broadway shows and on the US television programme Dancing With The Stars.

He struggled with many things, visiting rehab multiple times, and declaring bankruptcy in 2013 due to massive debt, a large portion of which was tax-related.

Following his passing, many people paid tribute to Carter, including celebrities Paris Hilton, Tyler Hilton, Hilary Duff, and the bands New Kids on the Block and *NSYNC.
