Dwayne Johnson was born in 1972 on May 2.

Johnson was born in the California city of Hayward. Hayward is on the east side of the San Francisco Bay, about halfway between Oakland and San Jose.

Johnson played defensive line for the football team at the University of Miami. In 1991, the team won the AP National Title. Warren Sapp and Ray Lewis were both on the same team as him.

Dwayne didn't get picked up by the NFL, so he signed with Calgary in the CFL. Also on the team was Doug Flutie. During his first season, he was let go.

Rocky Johnson, a wrestler, was the son of Johnson.
